Norwich Heroes opens with the storming of Chapultepec Castle during the Mexican-American War, then weaves its way through flashpoints of U.S. military history where graduates of the Norwich University Corps of Cadets have emerged as battlefield heroes. Follow three extraordinary brothers as they fight their way through the Civil War’s bloodiest battles. Join others on patrol in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, or fast-roping into the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, Somalia, or hunting the world’s most-wanted terrorists and war criminals in Iraq and Afghanistan. What do all of these men have in common? Much more than you may think.

Randall H. Miller is the author of six books, including the Top 10 Best Selling Mark Landry series. He has a M.A. in Diplomacy (focused on International Terrorism) and a B.A. in Criminal Justice, both from Norwich University, the nation’s oldest private military college. A former officer in the 82nd Airborne and 2nd Infantry Divisions, he researches and trains regularly in weapons and close-quarter-battle tactics alongside law enforcement and military operators. He lives in North Andover, Massachusetts.

Norwich Heroes eBook Randall H Miller

My son is a junior cadet at Norwich. I’ve had a few friends who graduated from NU also. Learning more about the school and it’s history was an excellent, easy read. I would recommend this book to prospective students, current students, families of students, alumni. As Norwich approaches it’s 200th graduating class in 2019, reading of the history felt appropriate. I’m more than proud that my son will graduate from undergraduate studies here.

Thank you, Randall Miller for this great read! You have other books I’d like to read also. Any of them about the ghost stories? 👻🔦⚔️

Norwich Heroes eBook Randall H Miller Reviews

Mr. Miller did Norwich and our Alumni proud with his history of our most colorful graduates. The history if Norwich is so rich it would be hard to capture completely in nothing but a lengthy volume however, Miller does grab your attention and make you want to know more. I do like the easy read and small size. It made for a nice evening read. And one which has spurred me on to research more a few of the accounts. Nice job and thank you. "I will Try".
I thought it was a very interesting and fast-paced read for a historical documentary. I really enjoyed the book even though it's not the genre I normally pick.
My Grandson is in his second year at Norwich and I wanted to know more about the history of Norwich and the people that made it what it is today. I stayed up and read it in two nights - couldn't put it down. Very impressive and you as a writer hold the interest to keep on reading. I am so proud to be a "Grandma of Norwich". As you get older life gets a little tougher, but I too will remember -
"I will try". It would be interesting to see a book similar to the Rook handbook and how they progress and what all they do means.
Example ranks, what types of classes, what things mean when they salute and walk a certain way and stand a certain way. Parents and family would love that. Thank you again!
The book focuses on heros who graduated from Norwich University. The stories are inspirational, moving and amazing.
After reading Norwich Heros i invited Randall Miller to come to the Lawrence Exchange Club to talk about his books. There was a wonderful powerpoint presentation that accompanied his talk on Norwich Heros. The members told me it was the best meeting they had been to all year if not longer.
You dont have to be a Norwich graduate to appreciate the sacrafice and bravery of these fine men.
A historical reference that I wish I had while on the Hill. Randy presents an excellent portrayal of many distinguished men who exemplified the true values learned following Alan Partridge's teachings. A great reminder of why I walked through the gates. There are only so many pages to tell these stories. I'm certain there are many more that need to be told. Great book, highly recommended.
I was not familiar with the Norwich Corp of Cadets. Being a Southerner I am familiar with VMI, The Citadel, and North Georgia College. I learned quite a lot about the Corp of Cadets and their dedication to duty and country. I highly recommend this book for everyone.
First the disclaimer I am a proud Norwich Alumni class of 1977.

This is an extremely enjoyable, plow through it in a night, read. For the general reader it is a reminder of the critical role of the Citizen Solider in our Nation's history. It is also a critical reminder of why we should not and cannot out source the defense of our Nation to a professional military class. It is a rallying call that we each and everyone of us individually and collectively has a part to play in the defense of our nation.

For those of us who are part of the Norwich family it is a stirring reminder of what makes our University our Corps special. It is a Clarion Call that we have a duty to lead and lead from the front in our communities and chosen endeavors.

As an Alumni, I was familiar with most of the pre 1973 stories from the infrequently checked out histories of the university, Professor Gary Lord's inserting some of them into his American History Survey, Rook knowledge, commemorative plaques, and dusty museum displays. Randall brings those stories to life with a vibrant writing style; knitting together a group of distantly related stories into a cohesive whole.

Invest the time to read this book you will not be disappointed.
